Hello,
Pregnancy occurs only during the time of ovulation. Ovulation is the release of a single, mature egg from a
follicle that developed in the ovary. It usually occurs regularly, around day 14 of a 28-day menstrual cycle.
Once released, the egg is capable of being fertilized for 12 to 48 hours before it begins to disintegrate.
This is the most fertile period of your cycle: during ovulation your chances of conception are highest.
It is seen that pregnancy only occurs if intercourse occurs within the 6 days prior to and including
ovulation. The best timing of intercourse in order to conceive is day 10, 12, 14 and 16 (in case of late
ovulation) of a 28 day cycle.
Check out whether you had intercourse around 1 week before ovulation of this month like since you had periods
on 6th sep, your ovulation should be around 18th-19th .To check whether you have conceived or not,you can get
home based urine for pregnancy test done. For this, over the counter pregnancy kits are available. Home
pregnancy tests detect the presence of the hormone hCG(a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the developing
placenta shortly after fertilization. ) in a woman's urine. You can test accurately as early as eight days
after conception.Confirmation is by blood HCG levels and ultrasound uterus which can pick up the pregnancy in
the first 4 ½ weeks of pregnancy.
I advise you to consult your gynecologist and get urine for pregnancy test done.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.
