Hello,
Pregnancy occurs only during the time of ovulation. Ovulation is the release of a single, mature egg from a
follicle that developed in the ovary. It usually occurs regularly, around day 14 of a 28-day menstrual cycle.
Once released, the egg is capable of being fertilized for 12 to 48 hours before it begins to disintegrate.
This is the most fertile period of your cycle: during ovulation your chances of conception are highest.
It is seen that pregnancy only occurs if intercourse occurs within the 6 days prior to and including
ovulation. Intercourse after the day of ovulation does not result in pregnancy.Intercourse 2 days before
periods will not result in pregnancy as right before your periods the uterine endometrial lining has already
been sloughed off the uterus.
The best timing of intercourse in order to conceive is day 10, 12, 14 and 16 (in case of late ovulation) of a
28 day cycle.
Check out whether you had intercourse around 1 week before ovulation of this month. To check whether you have
conceived or not,you can get home based urine for pregnancy test done. For this, over the counter pregnancy kits
are available.
Hope it helps.
Take care and regards.
