Hi Kanyka,
It is not possible to have your period and still continue the pregnancy. This is because the fertilized egg
implants in the placental lining of the uterus to grow and derive sustenance from. A period involves shedding
of this placental lining and any implantation in this lining will also be shed along with it. When this
happens in the early weeks of pregnancy, it is called an abortion.
Pregnancy can be determined on a urine pregnancy test which would be available as a kit. It is possible that
your symptoms other than the cramping could be related to pregnancy, but the cramping is not a good sign. If
positive on the pregnancy test, you will need to consult your doctor to have an ultrasound done to check for
possible complications.
If negative on the pregnancy test, you will need to have a urinalysis done to rule out urinary tract
infections that could also cause the increased frequency of urination, cramping, and nausea.
Do post here if you require any further clarifications in this regard.
