Hello,
As you had regular periods on the 16th of this month,so chances of pregnancy are bleak but not
impossible.Without measuring the HCG levels or ultrasound uterus, nothing can be said with clarity. HCG can
first be detected by a blood test about 11 days after conception and about 12 - 14 days after conception by a
urine test.
I feel that your symptoms are more suggestive of hypomenorrhea or oligomenorrhea.Normal blood loss during
pregnancy is 10-80 ml.Anything less than that is called hypomenorrhea. An overactive thyroid function
(hyperthyroidism) or certain
kidney diseases can both cause hypomenorrhea. Oral contraceptive pills and intrauterine adhesions can also
cause hypomenorrhea.
Infrequent and light menstruation is called oligomenorrhea.PCOS(polycystic ovarian syndrome) is a common cause
of oligomenorrhea. PCOS is acondition in which the ovaries become filled with small cysts.
I feel that evaluation by a gynecologist along with investigations like thyroid profile,Ultrasound abdomen,
blood insulin levels, serum testosterone and androgen levels are required to confirm a diagnosis.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.
