Gential Warts?

Asked by unknown1234 (Female; 14 ) on Mon 30, Aug 2010 05:00am

Hi. Before i start, please can i have an ACCURATE answer I hope you're a REAL doctor willing to take time and read this. I've been sexually active but, only had sex with one person ONLY. Comes to find out the boy is sexually active and has had many, many sex partners. I always check my vagina down there to make sure everything's in tact. One day I've noticed 2 brown bumps on the pink fleshy part of my vagina thats nearly surrounding the vulva I believe? And I used a condom by the way. I asked my mom to take me to my doctor. She doesnt know im sexually active and neither does my doctor. They did a vaginal exam and my doctor said they're birthmarks, and thats why it's on both sides. I honestly don't think its a birthmark because it was NEVER there until some while after i've had sex. I think it can be genital warts. I CANT tell me mom. Im TOO afraid.

Answer by Dr J Singh (doctor) on Tue 31, Aug 2010 07:17am:

Hello, Since you have been sexually active, so possibility of these being genital warts are more. They don’t sound like birth marks to me. Warts are tumors or growths of the skin caused by infection with Human Papillomavirus (HPV).They are contagious when in contact with the skin of an infected person. To confirm a diagnosis you need to get an examination done from a dermatologist and a biopsy skin done. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
