Hello. THIS IS URGENT! I have been having sex on and off with my bf for a while
now. I saw my last period from the ending of Apr-May. Two weeks ago
approximately my breast have become tender and heavy and grew a bit in size. I
started experiencing pain with my ankles and I got a cold last week that comes
with back pains. I am better now but my back pains is still consistent. Now
today 31/08/10, I had sex with my bf and I experience the most intense abdominal
pain in my whole life. We thought it was because I skipped lunch, so it was due
to gas. But we are not sure. My bf carried to the pharmacist who gave me gas X
and something called ARCOXIA 120mg. Since I have taken them at this moment I am
having diarrhea like symptoms.
What could this be?

Hi! First of all are your pregnant? Take a pregnancy test and see. Since you have not had periods since April
May, even though you have PCOD, and since you are on Clomid, you could have ovulated and got pregnant. At
times pregnancy too can result in pain during intercourse. Pain on deep penetration or pain in the abdominal
area during or after intercourse is due to pelvic inflammatory disease (possible since you had back pains),
endometriosis, irritable bowel syndrome, pelvic tumors, cervical and uterine infections and tumors. Depending
on the site of pain during penetration, diagnosis can be made. In your case it can also be due to a burst
ovarian cyst or ectopic pregnancy as you have PCOD and are on Clomid. These two conditions are medical
emergencies. This can be further confirmed by clinical examination, ultrasound abdomen or CT scan (if you are
not pregnant), PAP smear and a STD panel as required. Diarrhea that you are experiencing now is due to
Arcoxia. Please stop this drug immediately. Take an OTC lactobacillus preparation and yoghurt with your meals.
Drink plenty of fluids. Eat light, do not stay hungry but eat simple things like toast, porridge, cereals,
crackers etc. Take ORS. Do discuss this with your gynecologist immediately, ASAP please and get yourself
examined ASAP. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please feel free to ask anything else you

Hello,
Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting on it. Of course since you are having amenorrhea( absence of
periods) since May this year, the first possibility is of pregnancy and Dr Kokil is right in saying that the
abdominal pain can be due to deep penetration or ectopic pregnancy. I would suggest you to do a repeat urine
for pregnancy test or get your serum HCG levels estimated ( more accurate than urine tests). The HCG (it is a
hormone) levels rise only in pregnancy. You can also get an ultrasound uterus done. If pregnancy is ruled out
then secondary amenorrhea needs to be ruled out. Secondary amenorrhea is when a woman who has had normal
menstrual cycles stops getting her monthly period for 3 or more months. Other causes of secondary amenorrhea
include stress and anxiety, malnutrition, depression, overexercising, sudden weight loss or gain
(obesity),thyroid disorders, smoking, endometriosis, tumors of ovary and brain and hormonal imbalance due to
polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS) which you are already having. You should consult a gynecologist and get a
physical examination done. You may need investigations like hormone profile, ultrasound uterus and CT head.
Once the diagnosis is made, treatment can be planned. Regarding this diarrhea, it can be antibiotic induced
diarrhea or due to gastritis as well. Take adequate fluids throughout the day. The BRAT diet (ie, bananas,
rice, applesauce, toast) or soft easily digestible semisolid diet can also be taken. Also consult a
gynecologist ad get all these possibilities evaluated. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
