Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read and answer my question. I already went to my family doctor, but I just need a second opinion here. I am a 26 year old female. I was diagnosed with WPW (Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome)16 years ago. My WPW acts up approximately 3-4 times a year. My heart beats fast for a few minutes, then corrects itself. I have never experienced any dizziness or light headedness. I have never been on any medications and since my episodes occur infrequently, have not been encouraged to have an ablation. I take good care of myself by ensuring that I eat healthy, exercise, and limit my caffiene intake. My question is, do you forsee any potential problems if I were to become pregnant? What type of delivery would be the safest for me?

Hi, Nothing can be said with absolute surety here. There have been reported cases of women going through pregnancy without any complications and also some cases about increased incidence of arrhythmias in patients with WPW syndrome going through pregnancy. Talk to your cardiologist is detail about this and also discuss whether radiofrequency ablation would help in your case. Regards.
