Hi,
How are you?
Fibrocytic changes in the breast may lead to formation of lump in the breast. This lump is benign and has no
relation with breast cancer.
The lumps occur due to fluctuations in the level of estrogens and progesterone. They usually enlarge at the
time of menstruation and decrease afterwards.
It is believed that avoiding caffeine, soft drinks, tea, chocolate decrease water retention and thus reduces
the lump.
Application of heat, wearing a bra, aspirin and Danazol which is a synthetic form of androgen help in
mitigating the symptoms.
You can discuss this with your OBGYN and continue with your trial and errors to find out ways to reduce the
swelling.
