This is because the thickness of the uterus varies during the menstrual cycle. There are some cases where the thickness can be localized, and this could be caused by an endometrial polyp or a fibroid. These are diagnosed with a biopsy. In a postmenopausal woman, thickening may be due to a polyp or precancerous changes. Talk to your gynecologist about this to ease any worries or anxiety. Take care and best regards.
