	I had an Abortion 2 yrs ago at 6 weeks.I have used yasmin pill since then,stopped in march,2009.also used emergency contraception 7 times.Need a baby,can i still conceive? after how long?

	Answer by Dr. Namita Shrivastava (doctor) on Sun 02, Aug 2009 10:43am: Hi, The yasmin pill is a combined contraceptive pill. Fertility returns immediately upon discontinuing its use. Having an abortion or having used emergency contraception methods per se donot imply that you will not be capable of childbirth. It has just been 5 months that you have stopped using contraception. Just relax and try having sex during the fertile period of menses. You can calculate the fertile period by calendar method. Keep record of your longest and shortest cycles. Then substract 20 from the shortest one and 10 from the longest cycle. ). This period will give you the most fertile period . Intercourse during this period would be effective in getting pregnant .Visit your gynaecologist for complete evaluation and advice .Hope this helps.Thanks and regards.
