My husband and I have been trying for 6 years. I have 2 large uterine fibroids, the larger in the lower uterine segment measuring 10cm in diameter and a superior fibroid measuring 9.1cm. Both ovaries are normal. I have an appt with a fertility clinic. I wanted to know would they be able to aid my husband and I to get pregnant without have surgery. I know I will have to have a c-section just because of my fibroids, but I am trying to avoid having a myomectomy.

Answer by Dr. Rajgopal, MBBS (doctor) on Fri 03, Jul 2009 09:11pm:

Hi, Uterine fibroids are benign growths that occur due to abnormal oestrogen production .Please go to the fertility clinic and get yourself treated for the hormonal imbalance . Your husband needs to be checked for a normal sperm count and other tests need to be done . Please consult your gynaecologist for the treatment option for the fibroids as they delay the pregnancy chances . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
