	I have had vaginal thrush for over 10 months now and I have tried countless treatments to try and get rid of it but none of have worked. I have used creams, tablets (oral and vaginal) I even took oral tablets for a full week. I am extremely swollen and can't use tampons. I have been checked for diabetes and that was negative, I am fed up of not getting any more answers. Is there anything I can do to help get rid of it quick, it's making my life a misery as I am so uncomfortable. The doctors keep prescribing the same medication which obviously isn't working, please help. I will try anything. I would just like it to go as quickly as possible, as not only is it depressing me but it is also affecting my relationship as we can not have sex as it is too painful..please help. 	Answer by Dr Veena, MD (doctor) on Wed 26, Aug 2009 05:21am: Chronic candidial vaginal infections could be due to diabetes mellitus, intestinal dysbiosis, allergies, elevated vaginal pH, oral contraceptives, steroids, synthetic underwear, pantyhose and tight clothing which hold moisture, pregnancy, use of immunosuppressive drugs, antibiotics etc. If medications provide relief for only a short period and all other conditions which increase the risk of fungal infections have been ruled out, then dietary changes and life style changes can help cope with the situation.
