I'm 40 years old and 17 weeks into my first pregnancy. All previous sonograms and doctor's visits have looked/gone
well. I never had any morning sickness, breast tenderness (although they are slightly bigger and veined) or any other
symptoms. I have gained a few pounds, but I was dieting before I got pregnant, so it's probably as much food weight as
it is baby weight. My question is....I don't feel pregnant at all and I'm worried that something has gone wrong.
I haven't had any bleeding, spotting or abdominal cramping. I did have a bad backache a few weeks ago, but I talked to
my doctor's nurse on the phone and she said it sounded muscular and to treat it with ice and Tylenol. It still hurts a
bit, but I've had back issues on and off for the last few years. Am I just being paranoid and irrational to think that
there won't be a heartbeat when I go to my appointment next week? I would know at this stage of the pregnancy if
something had happened, wouldn't I? I guess I'm just looking for a little education reassurance. Thank you.
