Womens Health problem! - White / yellow smelly discharge.

	I have missed a period, taken three pregnancy tests, all were negative. I have always been regular with my periods, im very worried. Im a 21 year old female. Ive booked an appointment for a smear test on Monday. I also have white/yellow smelly discharge. Can you help me?

	Answer by Dr Bhupinder K, MD (doctor) on Mon 06, Jul 2009 04:13am: Hello, If the pregnancy tests have come out negaitive,then pregnancy is ruled out.But confirmation of the status of pregnancy can only be done after serum HCG levels.Also this foul smelling white/yellow discharge can be due to infections like trichomoniasis.I would suggest a gynecologist’s evaluation to confirm the diagnosis and to find out the cause of amenorrhea in absence of pregnancy.This can be due to stress and anxiety, malnutrition, depression, overexercising, sudden weight loss or gain (obesity),thyroid disorders or hormonal imbalance due to polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS).
