bleeding after a miscarriage

	i had a miscarriage on the 11th january and bleed for 2 weeks then 5 weeks later started bleeding again but only light and brown this went on for a week. then 1 week later i started bleeding again sometimes light sometimes heavey but only when go toilet and wipe myself this has been going on for 2 weeks now and still going on can you help.

	Answer by Dr Rowena S, MD (doctor) on Thu 09, Apr 2009 11:30am: After a miscarriage, there is bleeding for about a week after the procedure and sometimes some lighter bleeding a few days after that. The first real period occurs after about 4-6 weeks. This is rarely normal, it may be heavier or lighter than usual.
