could i be pregnant i had sex the day before my period and still came on my period

	if i have sex one ay and come on my period the next day could i still be pregnant i came on my period the very next day and i had sex unprotected the day before

	Answer by Dr Aparna, MD (doctor) on Wed 30, Jul 2008 12:47pm: Hi, The least likely time for you to get pregnant would be just prior to and immediately after the period or menstruation. In a normal monthly cycle, a woman usually ovulates 14 days before her next period. This means if she has a regular 28 day menstrual cycle, counting the first day of her period as day one, then she will usually ovulate on day 14. If her cycle lasts 30 days, then she usually ovulates on day 16. Once ovulation has occurred, the sperm has only 24-48 hours within which to fertilize the egg in the woman's Fallopian tubes. So, if pregnancy has to occur then the act of intercourse should be within this time-frame. In september last year my Fiance and myself Decided we want to concieve, and that i would stop getting it, right at the time i was due for my next. Since around janurary 5, my period has been irregular. Light spotting for days at a time, then could stop for a week and come back again, or in most cases, only comes on during intercourse. and Lately I have had a bad smelling odour coming out too, but only when penetrated.
