experiencing right pelvic pain

Asked by tina (Female; 26 ) on Wed 08, Sep 2010 04:52am

I have been experiencing this right pelvic pain for sometimes now. It seems that when Iam in my menses I will not experience it, but as soon as my menses is over for about a week then it will start again. I went for a scan and it shows I have right ovarian cycst, and I have been trying to concieve for about Nine months now but it seems I am finding it difficult. Please what is wrong with me. I have 28 dys cycle for last two months that's (July & August) but this month (september) i have 26dys cycle. could you please tell my ovulation day and most fertile days for this month.

Answer by Dr Bhupinder K, MD (doctor) on Thu 09, Sep 2010 06:51am:

Hello, From the symptoms it looks like this pain is related to the ovarian cyst because it disappears when you have your menstrual cycle. Menstrual cycles may be normal at first and then gradually become irregular, or the onset of menses may be delayed. The menstrual irregularities in ovarian cysts are accompanied by a lack of ovulation, so affected women may experience infertility. Pregnancy occurs only during the time of ovulation. Ovulation is the release of a single, mature egg from a follicle that developed in the ovary. It usually occurs regularly, around day 14 of a 28-day menstrual cycle. The best timing of intercourse in order to conceive is day 10, 12, 14 and 16 (in case of late ovulation) of a 28 day cycle. So pregnancy can occur 10 days after menstruation. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
