help i'am steralised but having pregnancy syptoms

	im steralised showing signs of pregnancy. the op was done 3 years ago when youngest was 4 mths have had bleeding but different to period. help! i was told when i went for steralisation that because my youngest was 4mths that it would not be done for a while because i had not long had a baby. but it was done 2 wks after seeing my doctor. my periods are normally heavy and last 2 /3 days and dark red/brown coloured. my last one (march) was light red coloured heavy last 3 days then 1 day spotting. i normally get a discharge before my period whih seems to have come after this time.

	Answer by Dr Veena, MD (doctor) on Sun 22, Mar 2009 11:03am: Even though sterilization is considered as a perfect solution for contraception, there can rarely be chances of failure of this procedure. It would be better to get a pregnancy test done to confirm. And, heavy periods need to be evaluated, because this could be due to fibroids, polyps, malignancies, hormonal fluctuations etc. Consult your OB/GYN for further assistance.
