i am 13 days lat eon my period and have had 5 negative pregnancy tests, i feel pregnant. I went to the doctors and discussed my symptoms and she said i was most probably pregnant but why would the HCG still not be showing when i am this late? please help

	Answer by Dr Veena, MD (doctor) on Wed 06, May 2009 07:46am: Missed periods do not always suggest pregnancy. When have you taken the pregnancy tests? Was it after you missed your periods or before? If after the missed date, then chances of you being pregnant are less. The other causes of missed period could be hormonal imbalance, polycystic ovaries etc. I would suggest that you get a lab pregnancy test and scan done to confirm the cause.
