Thanks for writing in. I think you are having polycystic ovaries, which is a common problem in female
infertility. The cause for this is not known, but predisposing factors are obesity, sedentary life style,
hormonal fluctuations etc.
At birth, in a female child eggs sufficient till menopause are present. But in polycystic ovaries , like in a
normal female during ovulation egg does not release. So, there are drugs which help in maturation of the
follicle, rupture of follicle and release of egg. At, the age of 30 and above the quality of egg deteriorates,
but egg production still continues.
It would be better to assess the risk factors and direct treatment according to that and also planning for
children in the ages between 23- 30 years would be better.
