	Answer by Dr Madhulika Mohanty (doctor) on Mon 06, Sep 2010 03:43am: Dear Oomamamia ideally anal sex cannot cause pregnancy, but if sperm has leaked and travelled upto the vagina then there can be pregnancy. If sperm gets deposited in the vagina the sperm can swim inside and cause pregnancy. In outside environment it usually dies with in 15 seconds. Moreover pregnancy can occur only if you are in the fertile period. If your cycles are regular then ovulation in a menstrual cycle occurs in the middle of the cycle, so few days before or after the day of ovulation is considered to be fertile period .A person can get pregnant if she has sex in the fertile period .
