i have vaginal discharge, sometimes its turning light yellow sometime white orsometime colorless is it normal?there is no itching or bad smell.i lost almost12kg after my delivery is it due to my discharge or brestfeeding.i want to gainmy weight.pls help

	Answer by Dr.Bhumika Aggarwal (doctor) on Thu 02, Sep 2010 02:00pm: Hi, This is most probably a vaginal infection. Vaginal infection can be due to bacteria, yeast or trichomonas infection. You can get a vaginal smear test done to know the cause. Yeast vaginitis can be treated with over-the-counter anti-yeast cream or suppository. If the vaginitis is caused by bacteria, an antibiotic would be needed. If it is due to trichomonas you have to take metronidazole under the supervision of doctor. Both partners have to be treated.
