Hi, sorry for the delay in replying. Delay in menses can be due to pregnancy, stress, hormonal imbalance,
imbalanced diet, depression, thyroid problems, poly cystic ovarian disease etc .If your pregnancy test is
negative get a blood for Beta HCG done to confirm. If it is negative it can be due to other causes. As you are
trying to conceive you should have sex in the fertile period. A woman ovulates 14 days before menstruation,
sperm can survive in the vagina for 3-5 days and the ovum can survive up to 24 hours. If your cycles are
regular then one week before or one week after the day of ovulation is considered to be fertile period. You
can note down few signs of ovulation like during ovulation the cervical mucus(discharge) increases and is of
watery or raw egg white consistency; there is increase in basal body temperature; breast tenderness. It can be
detected by a OPK (Ovulation predictor test kit) which is tested with the help of urine. I hope you have
understood. Take care.
