infertility and sexual health

	i was diagnosed september last year with chlamydia, i worked out to of had it for 18months.my partner and i was treated but before i found out i had the infection i had a miscarriage. we have been trying for 20months now. since the infection i have had 2 smear tests because they found abnormal cells when i had the infection my last test was normal and 3 swab tests to make sure its gone but can PID show up on the results, is it likely i have that and could be infertile? i cant sleep some nights with worry, i really hope you can help me

	Answer by Dr. Harsh Abbott (doctor) on Sun 22, Nov 2009 08:09pm: Hi, PID is pelvic inflammatory disease which is an inflammatory response, (in your case may be due to infection like chlamydia) and can lead to miscarriage and infertility. However there can be other causes like tube patency, hormonal imbalance, sperm analysis of your partner etc. which needs to be considered before coming to a conclusion.
