There is a chance of being pregnant even when there is no fetal pole visible through U/S if it was a
ectopic pregnancy. The other causes could be trophoblastic disease or hydatid mole. Also, in case of
miscarriage the pregnancy test could show positive results for some time, but it is necessary to estimate HCG
quantitatively to confirm miscarriage.
It is not necessary that clots should be passed after miscarriage, it depends upon the gestation period when
the miscarriage has occurred.
