However there are many contraceptives which can be taken once in 3 months, once in 5 years and so on. The contraceptives like implants, depo Vera shots, mirena coils, copper-T etc can be used once and it effects last from few months to years. You should consult a gynaecologist for choosing from these long acting contraceptives. Hope it helps. Take care and keep posting.
