pregnant after DNC and on pills?

	Hi, i just recently had a DNC done. it's been a month and i just started my first menstrual period (after surgery) and my first pack of birth control pills. my boyfriend came in me a few days into my period, can i still get pregnant?

	Answer by Dr Bhupinder K, MD (doctor) on Sun 04, Jan 2009 01:00pm: Hello, After D+c,it takes about 6 weeks for the uterus to come back to its normal self.Then you have also started with your birth control pills.If you are taking oral contraceptives regularly,then chances of pregnancy are bleak.Pregnancy only occurs when intercourse without any contraception measure is done around 1 week prior to or on ovulation day(14th day of a 28 days periods).You have mentioned that intercourse was during periods and moreover,you are taking birth control pills.So chances of pregnancy are rare.
