spina bifida

	I had a baby at 20 weeks with severe spina bifida of the scull. i am pregnant again and have been on 5 mg of folic acid 2.5 months before conception and am still taking it i am now 9 weeks. What are my chances of having another baby like this

	Answer by Dr Noopur S, MD (doctor) on Tue 03, Mar 2009 03:08am: If there has been a previous pregnancy with spina bifida the chances of getting it in subsequent pregnancies is about 20-50 times that of normal.
